Hey everyone,
Question #1
I have run into some strange issues with Ubuntu when they are different flavors with upgrading them. When I am running the standard Ubuntu I can use the Upgrade button and all seems to work fine. Yesterday I tried to to upgrade a Mint 8 to Mint 9 RC and it would never give me any sort of option to upgrade. Thought this was strange. Also with my Ultimate Edition 2.5 I put the new 2.6 DVD in and at first it said something about finding a disc with repositories on it and did I want to mount them. I said yes and it hasn't said anything since. I've never tried to upgrade Mint or Ultimate Edition before so was wondering if there was a trick.
Question #2
I have a plain Ubuntu 10.04 installation and would like to upgrade it to Mint 9 or Ultimate Edition 2.6. I am not sure if it is possible to "upgrade" that installation to one of these. It sounds like I will have to do a fresh install. I was hoping to avoid this. Let me know what you think.
