Our next meeting is this coming Thursday, August 7th, 6:30 PM, in the Computer Lab of the Boise Public Library, Capital Blvd, across from Julie Davis Park. On the agenda, a request to demonstrate replacing and working with the shadow password file and hacking the file.
There will be the usual time for discussion of other topics of interest and planning for our September meeting.

New to the Group
Hello. It is a shame I missed the meeting last week. I just found out about this group today. Hopefully I should be available to attend the next meeting.
My wife and I just relocated to Nampa, ID from Spokane, WA back in the middle of july. I am looking forward to associating with fellow linux users to learn more about it and making it what I want it to be. I am very tired of windows, and will in the near future acquire a macbook for the purpose of developing RoR applications using textmate and for fun.
I look forward to meeting the group soon.
By the way, I am using Hardy Heron LTS and loving it. I have it set up with compiz-fusion like mad, customized GDM, changed the usplash and have enjoyed messing around with grub and other things I can get my hands on. I should probably stop now before I employ my signature and destroy my machine. :D
